Hello there, my name is Jeff. My hometown is been in the midwestern, USA for my entire life. For the past 20 years I have made my living (mostly) working in ecommerce online. I would design websites for companies, and sell their products. While, I never did become a dot-com millionaire, I made a decent living and enjoyed living life on my own terms.
So Why Am I Writing A Travel Blog?
However, in the recent months all of my online businesses coincidentally took a drastic downturn at seemingly the same time. Perhaps you have heard of AI? Artificial Intelligence? I think it’s fair to assume that most have become (or will in the near future) quite familiar with the term, and the power that it does possess. For small online business owners in my niche, it has nearly wiped us out without any warning.
So, now I have reached the crossroads of what will come next? Do I have give up a life that I love to re-enter the workforce, or do I go down with the ship? The writing is on the wall in the industry that I have made a living in, so I have decided to give one last go at another online adventure. I am going to attempt to be a travel blogger, see the world and try (somehow) to make the site profitable enough to where I can accomplish this feat while still paying my bills on the road and also simultaneously back at home.
Sound impossible? I will admit that it does, however when I quite my job as a maintenance man 20 years ago to become an online affiliate marketer, that sounded impossible too. I have spent a lot of hours, trying to figure out what the smart “next move” should be, or the one that I can be content with. I have decided that the worst possibility would be that I would fail, and then I would be forced to re-enter the workforce at the bottom of ladder.
Join Me on my Journey
I hope that readers of my blog will want to consider following me along on my journey as I walk the line between bankruptcy, and a world without boundaries. While, I do not yet know on how this adventure will end, I am excited to see what is around the next corner. As long as I try, I can live with wherever the path leads me into the future.
My Travel History
While I have had my online business over the past two decades, it has allowed me to travel quite extensively. I spend approximately two months a year abroad and I have always loved it. I have been to the Philippines, Cambodia, and Thailand. In fact, I met my wife in the Philippines 8 years ago, and we have been married for 7.
I never felt the need to monetize my travels, so I was more of a “fly by the seat of my pants” traveler. I didn’t document things well, and I most certainly wasn’t writing blog posts about my travels. So, now my yearly vacation, will also could be considered a work-vacation.
